Three-Day Ponca to Kyles Float

26 river miles through the Upper District's tallest bluffs.

The classic Upper District float: Ponca → Steel Creek → Kyles Landing. Camp on gravel bars, hike side hollows to falls, and watch the bluffs change color hour by hour.

The plan

Day 1
Put in at Ponca, paddle 10 mi to Steel Creek. Hike to Hemmed-In Hollow.
Day 2
Steel Creek to Horseshoe Bend. Side trip up Indian Creek if water allows.
Day 3
Horseshoe Bend to Kyles Landing. Shuttle pickup by 3 PM.
