The hike
Ricketts Mountain Rock Formation (sometimes called Ricketts Mountain Bluffs) is a short loop through a quiet hardwood forest near Mount Judea, ending at a striking line of weathered sandstone bluffs and tumbled boulders. The formations are fun to wander around and photograph, and the short distance makes it a great family stop. Look for shelter-cave alcoves and small rockhouses tucked beneath the bluff line.
