Upper Buffalo Region

Unlike most Ozark waterfalls that depend entirely on rainfall, Tassel Spring Falls is fed partly by a spring — meaning it flows more consistently than many of its neighbors. The water tumbles over a bluffline draped in a remarkable tangle of roots, moss, vines, and rock that has built up over decades of slow flow. It's not the tallest waterfall in the region at 35 feet, but the spring-fed character and the unusual organic texture of the bluff face make it genuinely distinctive. Best visited in combination with nearby Loonbeam Pouroff for a full day in this section of the Upper Buffalo.
