The hike
One of the most popular trails in the Lower Buffalo, the Indian Rockhouse Loop drops through hardwoods past sinkholes, a CCC-era quarry, a small wet-weather waterfall, and 'Pebble Spring' before ending at Indian Rockhouse — a massive bluff shelter once used by prehistoric peoples. Along the way, look for the Indian Bathtub, a smooth hollow worn into the creek bed. The return climb is the workout. Best in spring and fall.
