The falls
Compton's Double Falls is one of dozens of 39 ft ribbon falls that ring the Buffalo River watershed. It runs hardest in late winter and early spring, when snowmelt and Ozark thunderstorms recharge the creeks. Getting there
There is no trail to these falls. Park along CR 9560 (Cave Mountain Road) near the Hawksbill Crag trailhead and bushwhack in — a downloaded GPS track is helpful. Falls are at 35.87930, -93.46257 (Boxley Quad — UTM 458262E, 3970450N). ~2.1 miles round trip. Continuing another 0.7 mi along the same route brings you to Amber Falls.
