The hike

An easy, wheelchair-accessible interpretive loop in the Henry R. Koen Experimental Forest, a research forest established in 1950 to study sustainability of the south Ozark hardwood forests. Thirty-four diverse tree species are labeled along the way, with benches at intervals and seasonal wildflowers throughout. Pick up the trail guide at the trailhead or nearby ranger station. Watch for poison ivy along the edges in summer.
