The falls

Broadwater Hollow Falls is a 21-ft traditional ledge drop in the Broadwater Hollow drainage of the Upper Buffalo Wilderness near Compton. It shares a parking area with Paige Falls — the two waterfalls sit back-to-back on the same short 0.6-mile easy bushwhack, with Paige just ~200 yards upstream as the spring-fed turquoise plunge and Broadwater Hollow just downstream as the taller, more classic ledge fall. If you're already at Paige Falls, Broadwater Hollow is only about 200 yards (2–3 minute walk) downstream — most visitors hit both in the same trip.

History

Broadwater Hollow sits in the Upper Buffalo Wilderness near Compton — quiet, lightly-traveled country that has been a 'hidden gem' for local hikers and photographers for decades.

⚠️

Broadwater Hollow Road is notoriously rough and often requires a high-clearance vehicle, especially after rain. The wet rocks around the pool are covered in thin algae and are deceptively slick.
